Manchester United are working on a deal to sign Leicester City's promising 18-year-old midfielder Louis Page, according to BBC Sport. The Red Devils face competition from Arsenal and Aston Villa, both of whom are keen to secure the teenager's services.
Who is Louis Page?
Page, the son of former professional footballer Don Page, has been a standout performer for Leicester's youth teams. He won the club's Academy Player of the Season award at the end of the 2024-25 season. The young midfielder made his competitive debut against Huddersfield Town in the League Cup last August and has since made 21 senior appearances for the Foxes, including five starts last season. Primarily a central midfielder, Page can also function in defensive or attacking roles.
Why is Manchester United interested?
United have been in the market for a third midfielder after signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. Page is seen as a long-term investment, with the club expected to bring in a ready-made first-team star before the end of the summer transfer window. The Red Devils recently signed 18-year-old Tynan Thompson from Tottenham Hotspur for £8 million and confirmed the arrival of Cristian Orozco from Colombian outfit Fortaleza FC.
What comes next for Manchester United?
With the transfer window still open, Manchester United are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. Last season, they finished third in the Premier League with 71 points, 20 wins, 11 draws, and 7 losses. Their recent form saw them go on a four-game winning run, ending the season with a 3-0 victory over Brighton. However, they are currently sidelined key players Manuel Ugarte, Lisandro Martínez, Mason Mount, Matheus Cunha, and Senne Lammens.
