Joshua Zirkzee's future remains uncertain after a difficult spell at Old Trafford. The Dutch forward, signed for £36 million in 2024, has scored just nine goals in 75 appearances for the club. Sporting CP in Portugal and Fenerbahce in Turkey are potential destinations, with the Turkish window closing on September 4 and Portugal's on September 5. Everton showed interest but United turned down their approach. Zirkzee could potentially link up with former United striker Romelu Lukaku at Fenerbahce.

Academy graduate Harry Amass could be set for a move to Scotland. The left-back was placed on the transfer list with a valuation around £6 million. Celtic are said to be monitoring the situation as they seek cover and competition for Kieran Tierney. Assistant manager Shaun Maloney acknowledged the club needs work in the full-back area. Amass, 20, has made only one senior appearance for United, which came in a Carabao Cup tie last season.

Manuel Ugarte's proposed exit was complicated by a knee injury sustained on international duty. The Uruguayan midfielder, 25, suffered ligament damage at the World Cup and is still recovering. United were seeking around £30 million for him, with AC Milan and Juventus previously linked. The I Paper reports that Galatasaray are now frontrunners, with their transfer window open until September 4. The Turkish club could sign him and oversee his rehabilitation before integrating him into their squad.

These potential departures would further streamline a squad that has seen significant turnover. United's summer spending focused on early reinforcements. Moving on players who are not in Carrick's immediate plans creates space and may free up resources for future windows.
