Manchester United has agreed a swift transfer deal with Celta Vigo for goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, who is set to join the Spanish club on loan until the 2026/27 season. The move comes after the news broke on Saturday that Bayindir would be leaving Old Trafford, and now details from sources close to Celta Vigo have been confirmed by Faro de Vigo's Sunday edition.

Bayindir is expected to travel for his medical either today or tomorrow, with Celta Vigo planning to finalize the deal in the coming hours. The Spanish club will be heading on a pre-season trip to Italy next week, and Bayindir has the opportunity to feature in matches against Sassuolo on Wednesday and Napoli on Saturday.

Manager Claudio Giráldez at Celta Vigo is eager for a new goalkeeper, with Bayindir set to compete with Andrei Radu. However, the financial deal for Manchester United isn't seen as particularly favorable, given that Bayindir's contract expires in June 2027 and the club has an option to extend it by another year.

Despite this, there is little expectation of Celta Vigo providing any fee to Manchester United, even if Bayindir becomes a free agent next summer. The local newspaper suggests he would still need to significantly reduce his wages to join the club.

Bayindir's time at Manchester United was brief and unremarkable. He joined in 2023 but never managed to establish himself as the first-choice goalkeeper under manager Ruben Amorim. His chances further diminished with the arrival of Senne Lemmens, and the signing of Karl Darlow as a free agent this summer has only highlighted that his position at Old Trafford is now precarious.

This move marks another chapter in Bayindir's career, where he will have the chance to prove himself at Celta Vigo after failing to do so at Manchester United.
